Your quotation is actually from a particular post from Molly in a discussion, with which Ian, another moderator, promptly disagreed.
I'm with Gil on this one completely - Wikipedia is like life, which is, according to Forrest Gump's mother, "... like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get." (Source: http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Forrest_Gump) There's a certain academic snobbery about Wikipedia, which frequently bugs me. Sure, it's not always perfect and sure, anyone can change it - though this also means that inaccuracies are also usually picked up very quickly. In my view, it can be used, as any single source, with caution and judgement. Or as an excellent starter platform for further research.
