The passage came to mind for me when I read Ash's statement on "toxins I consume." I think the passage leads us to the notion that by lifting our experience to a state that includes spirit (pick up snakes, include the physical with the spiritual) we can do all that is mentioned in the passage. Of course, interpretation is the key, For instance, drive out demons may be just a change in viewpoint from duality to non dual that comes in the unity consiciousness of belief such as that of Christ. When our will is aligned with Gods will, or in other words, the physical brought to the state that also includes spirit, what might have been toxic in a purely physical state is no longer toxic.
Of course you know, knowing me as you do, that I did not present the passage as a support for any particular theology, but more as an illustration of a non dual viewpoint, one necessarily all inclusive such as Ash's graphic suggests: "The idea of a mural has crossed my mind also, depicting pain, inspiration, hope, suffering, geometry, astronomy, physics, alchemical symbols, mandalas." I thought it an appropriate response to Ash, given his prior response. Please forgive me if I have overstepped.
