Hey Chris,

Yep indeed that is one of the claims that I regularly make. Well
almost. I wouldn't call science faith based, I would though say that
the knowledge we gather on a personal level has some element of faith
in it.

I say this though not in an angy triumphent voice (at least I don't
think I do, please do let me know if I do), nor do I say it because
I'm trying to equate religion and science, it's more as a defense
agianst those who tell me that religious faith is an unreasonable
supposition.

I have no problems in admiting this, and admitedly that was not always
the case. Infact it was a converation with our Chris a few years back
that made me revaulate my stance. The point I always seek to make
when this one pops out of my mouth (or fingers perhaps) is simply
this.

Us humans act both on faith based ideas and logical well reasoned
ideas. I like to say this and watch how some non belivers go almost
volcanic in denial of this 'truth'. The normal kind of rebutal is
along the lines of 'religous faith is not the same as other types of
faith' and yes that is probably correct but it is not the issue.

The isssue is we all have some kinds of fiath, and it is quite normal
for us to be this way. No if you wish to subdivided faith into little
tiny pieces and claim that this makes a massive differance, be my
guests, I won't only not belive you, but I'll be thinking 'wow look
how defensive he has just gotten, hit a nerve perhaps'?

A quickly snapped out denial in in such a mannor to me looks much like
intectual dishonesty.

I have some faith, you have some faith, she does , he does, we all
do. Just 'fess up' and admit it okay?
