We the consumers bear the greatest responsibility because we buy, we want and must have stuff we don't need. I put my recycle bin out every week but my trash bin every six weeks. We created an environment in which plastics are used for no other purpose except as an anti-theft device, ie; packaging. Much of our waste comes from our want of decoration and design, the paints and plastics; we even have plastic plants. How stupid have we become and how far are we going to go in letting ourselves be duped by artificial nature? Now with China entering a new phase of modernization with billions of people contributing to the mess we might find ourselves in the danger zone a lot sooner than we think.
The Cap & Trade idea is definitely another distraction ploy by the corporate world to side step what will ultimately result in fiscal losses. Only we as individuals can change it.
