Alan, I have never said that I am sure that God does not exist. It's convenient to ignore this fact in a discussion, but I have stated my position on it numerous times here on Mind's Eye. I lack belief in God. This is not a positive affirmination that I do not believe in God, rather it's a position that dismisses every claim for God's existence I have thus far come across as not being credible. You might describe this position as "weak atheism", although I personally just call it "atheism" because I regard "strong atheism" as utter non-sense.
