Ahhh Ian, It comes back down to this again, it is something that in my experiance the vast majority of atheists have in common.
You and Fidds both simply cannot comprehend why a person can happily hold to an unreasonable belife, for you it has no worth nor merit and is as you say inconsequential. However talking of thruths here is a good one for you, one that you will of course have heard from me many times over. People are differant the world over. There are many many things that I cannot or do not comprehend, there is much that I don't understand, and there is also lots that I sort of get but because it seems to run counter to the way I do, simply fail to understand on an intecetual level why some people are like this. Bigotry being the big one for me, but also I just do not understand why some people get so uipset about the S word. You know the one I mean Socialism. All though my confusion though the simple truth I have uttered countless times provides me with insight in how to deal with things like this. There are some things that I fear I will never understand about the human condition, I shrug my shoulders and say well I guess that is one of them things. In short, forget about understanding why us theists belive as we do, and just accpet that we do, that this is a differance in the way we are built, or something,. For you my belifes have no merit or worth, but ahhhh Ian, for me they define who I am. I'm sure then in this light you can appreciate that I must disagree with your assment of such belife. Worth IS subjective, and my belifes have much worth. Morphine, yep I don't think I be performing that experiment, I have no wish to test God, nor do I wish to die.
