Ya Archy, honor among theives! I didn't think you'd remembered. I
was talking to my wife today about the case against honesty, cures and
government function. Basically it boils down to the fact that if
there were honesty, cures for disease and government functionality,
the world as we know it would implode.
Examples:
I remember when they outlawed Ephedrine from weight loss products and
I couldn't understand why because it worked. But now I see that they
really would rather support the medical industry, the trillion dollar
business, by having fat people see doctors and specialists for their
diabetes, lap band and gastric bypass surgeries and a multitude of
other treatment procedures than to allow these people to take a drug
that will let them lose weight. I also thought about watching the
Jerry Lewis telethon for Muscular Dystrophy which brings in Million$$$
every year, for the past 50 years or more. But I was thinking that if
they did find a cure, which they might have already, what would happen
to all the people who make a living because of the disease and because
of the telethon?
Then you have the government that functions on dysfunction which is
"job security" for politicians. Crime Pays because millions of people
are making billions of dollars because of it. You have the police,
the courts, the lawyers, the stenographers. secretaries, bookkeepers,
file clerks, the photographers, the prisons, the people who make
prison clothes, the people who provide the food for the prisons, the
doctors, psychiatrists, probation officers, parole officers, the
companies that make bullet proof vests, firearms, ammunition, build
the prisons, guards, uniforms, I'm running out of breath, etc...
You get the picture?
The entire country would collapse if they were to find cures for
disease and if everyone started to obey every law to the letter and if
government honestly did what they purport to do.
We can't do it, we have to be dishonest.
