Oh fiddler, fiddler, this is a typical example of why you just aren't able to engage with most sincere believers - and I make this observation as a non-believer. There are millions of believing Christians who do not deny evolution and accept that the flood is a legend and still describe themselves as believing Christians. They have serious, sophisticated intelligent arguments which they offer to support their positions. Now I personally think that these arguments are not convincing and have had many intellectually stretching (for both sides) discussions with believers on the basis of mutual respect and listening. Nobody can seriously intellectually engage with religious fundamentalists of any stripe, but not all believers are fundamentalists. Indeed, your approach frequently makes me wonder whether you are not simply mirroring religious fundamentalism with atheistic fundamentalism. Are you interested in dialogue, or do you just want to use this and other forums as a pulpit? I can get sermons anywhere.
