How about two linked maxims: 1) God is the one thing that truly exists. 2) All the multitudes of things which seem to exist are but extensions of the one thing which truly exists. The continued existence of the space-time continuum removes the possibility of our 'disappearing' from reality. Rather, when we die, we no longer continue a dynamic existence on the edge of the expansion of space-time and, rather, are relegated to a fixed area that those who are still alive would refer to as 'the past'. We don't really leave space-time, our entire lives have always been (and always will be) a part of it.
