I am reminded of the story of Babel by this thread.מגדל בבל‎ Migdal
Bavel In Hebrew ond برج بابل‎ Burj Babil in Arabic or the Tower of
Babel in English was supposed to be a marvelous tower "with it's top
in the heavens" as it has been translated.However there is much
speculation in how the original text has been translated as the
language of the time has been virtually lost. עם זה למעלה בשמים and עם
זה מלמעלה הקוסמוס in Hebrew are "with it's top in the heavens" and
"with it's top to the cosmos" and in Arabic they are مع انها قمة في
السماوات
 and مع انها قمة في الكون
respectively.But the original text was found on the Sumerian Tablets
and also were passed on in several Akkadian dialects. In both Hebrew
and Arabic the words "Heavens" and "Cosmos" are indistinguisable.But
in English the meanings are entirely different or at least have
different implications... There are many takes on the story and one I
found particularly interesting(peculiar) but could tie many of our
disscusions together. Here's the link;
