Hello, again! Yes- the symbols still are. The art instructed prior to general literacy- printing in the vernacular and so on. But that is Christianity- and the use of Latin- while other religions vary from totems to forbidding the human form/Islam. India wasn't shy- nor Persia- nor the Pagans, in general.
