Oh, sorry, I thought you said something about America. Yes, I do
recognize it as being the name of continents (North and South);
however, all too many citizens of the USA apply the term to the US
alone. And, of course, if you are talking about pre US days…I guess
I’ve entirely missed whatever your point is. Yes, kings, queens and
investors financed most travel (and art and almost everything) in the
1600s. I just don’t see what this has to do with corporations!

As to religion and conversion…there came a point where Jewish
investors helped finance the kings/queens etc. …they did this in part
because for the first few hundred years any Jew found in the ‘New
World’ was put to death…at least during most of that period…conversos
aside. *
