more or less.  Reading some Darwin a few years back I was surprised to
find him discussing genocide and the cattle trade met on his travels
in mainland South America.  The Congo is sitting on $27 trillion in
minerals and is the size of what we usually mean by western Europe.
It looks a bit like I imagine a frontier land to be.
