Societal values are not yet settled ... on account of age-old sexuality ! Simply put, women rate money and bread earning way above else. Now, there might not be many men who do not likewise value but the "Male Principle" is certainly less worldly, if I may put it, less anchored to, engrossed in and content with that pursuit.
I, for one, believe that the world is made for the "Female Principle." And, it would solve a lot many problems if men crowned their women with matters that leave them secure and bought time to pursue that which fulfills them. Socrates might have been ugly but that was the least of defects in the eyes of his wife ! --
