Much the same here Molly. In desperation the other day, Sue put on our
Parliament channel. They were showing coverage of our 1974 election for
hours. Quite fascinating to us, and perhaps the one other viewer! I often
feel that my lifetime of those times ended. I'm a bit like Dawkins on god
concepts, though don't like the suppression of other people's data or the
importance of 'the dream' or potential resistance to aspects of the
evolution machine (much as I can't stand religious machines excusing dire
behaviour). In the end, I don't like the way introspective light can end
up as a salamander in a hat only available to the introspector. Science
has its eternal - Popper's 'World 3' is an example - but such is still
amenable to rebellion and doubt that doesn't fall into the trap of doubting
everything.
