Solipsism has appeal to some RP - though I'd guess Facil isn't Facile.
Quite liked the 'shaky camerawork' Tony - couldn't take the musak. I'm
watching the Manchester University brain box and irritatingly good looking
Brian Cox tell the story of humans being the only intelligent civilisation,
but the physicist has already come up with some standard nonsense on Easter
Island's people destroying themselves - rather than Dutch and Peruvian
slavers and sheep monoculture. The basic idea is that we would already
know a very advanced civilisation if there was one. Mere speculation, of
course, despite the scientific front man and his concerns to avoid shaming
Amsterdam residents.

Solipsism is extremely difficult to disprove, much as statements the Earth
was born in 4004 BC complete with fossil record, memories and no doubt a
cosmos sending us false signals. Universe may follow universe as RP says -
but this is not much use to science - though the quest is on for
alternatives to creation theories like biggly bang. Speculative, but hard
worked on data suggests a dark flow out of the universe to an attractor
beyond - a beyond the speed of light 'dark flow'. It is hard to reason
that anything exists outside human subjectivity, perhaps an individual
subjectivity - one might kick a stone and say 'feck that for a game of
soldiers' - but this could all exist in a solipsist consciousness too. The
scientific-philosophic point is not this, but to decide what hypothesis to
work with. The reality hypothesis tends to be more useful than imagining,
hallucinating a real world and so on.

Solipsism is some kind of boundary emulator - yet in the standard run of
things we believe there was a time before human time and human
consciousness.

consideration in the realm of art.
