When I first ran the zombie topic a long time ago. Some where I read the induced state was a zombie like state of concousness induced by the whirling. I could have read it wrong or remember it wrong. What I do remember a reference to zombie like state connected with the whirling dervish. It is one of the islamic sects I do believe it refers to the sufi, I never continued due to lack of interest. I was surprised that sufi was an islamic sect. Lost interest a long time ago.
