There is 'nodding disease'
- http://www.cdc.gov/globalhealth/noddingsyndrome/ - and ants are zombified
by a fungal infection that makes them wander off as if drunk, to die at
lunar noon.
The Christian 'Shakers' started down the road from here. They were quite
Sufi. The Shakers believed the second coming would be a woman, though
outlawed sex and thus aren't around now Gabby is with us. Like the Sufi
they were persecuted by other religions of peace and love.

I'm surprised Allan lost interest, as the Dervish stuff is part of Sama,
which comes from Rumi, a splendidly heretic philosopher. Rumi was inspired
by gold-beaters singing while they worked.

"Through Love all that is bitter will be sweet, Through Love all that is
copper will be gold, Through Love all dregs will become wine, through Love
all pain will turn to medicine". Take this to heart my dear old chap. She
means well.

You know the value of every article of merchandise, but if you don't know
the value of your own soul, it's all foolishness.
What shall I say, O Muslims, I know not myself, I am neither a Christian,
nor a Jew, nor a Zoroastrian, nor a Muslim.
It may be that the satisfaction I need depends on my going away, so that
when I've gone and come back, I'll find it at home.

Do you have an alibi for the 13th century Allan - this guy could be you.
Look, here you are musing on Gabby:
"You left and I cried tears of blood. My sorrow grows. Its not just that
You left. But when You left my eyes went with You. Now, how will I cry?"

Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing
and rightdoing there is a field.
I’ll meet you there.
When the soul lies down in that grass
the world is too full to talk about.

The Allan I know wrote that.
