If we assume God (god) exists than we must also realize that we can only
grasp what is made known to us. In other words, we will never be able to
analyze god without some given knowledge. The creation can never be above
the creator. If the sum total of all creation is greater than the creator
than the concept or reality of a god is superfluous. The parts are never
greater than the machine that produced them. The universe appears oddly
large. For something that (possibly) started as a singularity the amount
of mass in the entire (known) universe is ridiculously enormous. One
galaxy would have been sufficient. Something larger is at work. Why all
the ratios, gears and pulleys in our own solar system? We as a planet are
in two sweet spots, one is where we are in the Milky Way itself and the
other is our mass and distance from the sun. Not to mention our
magnetosphere, it's all too convenient. Our land to water ratio doesn't
hurt us either. We wouldn't survive without Jupiter or the Moon. The Moon
does many different things other than keep us from wobbling apart, and make
dogs howl! We can solve all of the scientific problems of the universe
except the "why". The "Why" is the uncuttable piece. It is the carrot at
the end of the stick.

The starting point for science and religion become the same. "We
believe it to be so, so it is". The breakdown occurs when the science
zealots want to shove theory down our throats as fact and the religionist
can't seem to generate enough spiritual "enlightenment" to cleanse a few
lepers or drop kick a person back to life after succumbing to rigor mortis.
(I've been to the shouting, forehead slapping revivals.) The only thing
that seems to flow is the money.

I believe. I don't believe. Seems simple enough. The corporate beliefs
are much less palatable. We all must believe in climate change or we become
"deniers". We all must believe in a particular religious doctrine or we
are banished.

I am both a creationist and a scientist. I want to know more. I am not
satisfied with the current shopping cart of ideas.

When I was seven years old God spoke to me in an "audible" (I only heard it
in my head I think) voice. I asked a question. Got an answer and my quest
for knowledge never ceased. I will never classify it as a religious
experience. It was too profound to delegate it to "religion".
