A good one to look at is sdf.org.  It's an inexpensive 
shell account on a system of computers. Just use 
ssh to connect.

They mainly use NetBSD, but also have an OpenBSD 
computer, beastie.sdf.org.  And you can use pine
/alpine if you want.
