I very much like the general idea of the logo.
I agree with Jeremie that the colours don't seem quite right --
they break up the natural flow of the double helix. I think
one strand of the helix could be blue and the other green.
The "front" of each strand would be bright, and the "back"
darker. I say blue and green rather than red and green
because a carefully chosen blue and green can be
simultaneously complementary and contrasting, which is
what you want for their "dual" appearance as both a double
helix and a set of Xs. It's hard to get red to be complementary.

The other point I'd make is that the font used for the "MI" part
doesn't seem to fit well with the Xs. It's too "straight" and
harsh-cornered, so the logo is split in two and doesn't hang
together. Something more rounded would be good, where the verticals
on the M are not actually vertical but angled, the corners and maybe
the caps are rounded, and everything has more of a soft, flowing feel.

I've just run the gauntlet of word-blindness looking for a suitable
font. The closest I found were Ethnocentric and Good Times -- if you
have those they'll show you the kind of thing I mean, though they're
perhaps not quite right as-is.
