I think you're unlikely to get good results with *any* PC motherboard's
onboard sound, either for quality or latency. I would always go for a 
real 4ch soundcard. But since that's something you can add later, you
could always try the onboard first I guess, obviously just try to get
something with good ALSA support.

M-Audio Xponent. I'm sure there must be others but it probably
has the nicest wheels of the lot and I put a lot of time into
getting it working really well -- but no LED support alas due
to their NDA requirement.

Or get yourself a Serato setup off some decks or CDJs...
