On the other not-so-pretty side, we have this homebrew midi controller  
built out of mouse optical encoders:

Someone on IRC was asking about making mouse-based turntables... we 
should make a howto or something.

Anyway -- looks like that guy would easily work with mixxx, since it's 
just midi. :)

Anyway.. the aurora is dead sexy, but it's a mixer, not a USB midi 
device --  when did you last see jogwheels on a mixer? :)

The thing is damn beautiful. It's too bad that making soundcards is 
difficult to get right. I'd love to see an open hardware MIDI controller 
that looks as beautiful as the aurora that could be a companion project 
to Mixxx. "A complete hardware and software stack for the Free DJ". :)
