You don't mention which vinyl you're using. Assuming it's using the xwax 
decoder there is a certain delay in locking on to the bitstream from the 
timecode to calculate the absolute position, but this should be a very 
small fraction of a second. Perhaps try inverting the polarity setting in 
timecoder.c? It would be useful to know if this helps. What model of CD 
player are you using?

I have a substantially updated timecoder in the pipeline, with many bug 
fixes like the polarity inconsistencies. Unfortunately there is one 
remaining bug with pitch wobble at high sample rates that I want to fix 
before making the next xwax release. When that happens it would be 
worthwhile bringing Mixxx up to date. Unfortuntately this has been on my 
to-do list for some time now.
