The Mixxx localization sub-forum is already linked from our GH page, as well as
from the Transifex help page.
Please post related topics to the localizations sub-forum. Give it some
content, and some time to grow.
It pays out in the mid term to have it all in one forum.

So how can a translator get others to double check a suggested translation?
Just as we use Github for code, we use Transifex for translations.
Both are collaborative platforms, one for code, the other for language.
As we don’t do the coding process in the Mixxx forums, i think it would be
wrong to do the translations process in the forums.
Supportive yes, but do not rely on the feedback there.
Instead, use the collaborative tools the Transifex web editor offers for the
translators.
These are the "Issues", "Suggestions" and the "Comments" sections.
* Issues = Hi maintainers, i found an spelling error etc. in the source
string. Please fix.
* Comments = Hi maintainers, whats the context of the string? I need it for
proper translation.
* Suggestions = Hi translators, I`m not quite sure about the translation and
would like to hear a thumbs up/down from you.
Or i`d like to add an alternative suggestion.
In this example, i just suggested the following translation to spanish (took
the translation for this string from iTunes).

Other translators on Transifex (basically anyone with a social media account)
can now up/down vote the suggestion,
or just confirm the suggested string as translation.
Many of the contributors to the current translations are not active in the
Mixxx forums, but as Translator on Transifex -
often for multiple music related apps. They are no developer or DJ`s
necessarily, but interested in translations.
So if you suggest terms directly on Transifex, you talk to the right people and
reduce your work load.
And you can even put the links (see example above) up to the Mixxx forum for
discussion.
If you think it is better to use the English original, just don’t translate it.
Over the time, translations evolve.
Once we put out a 1.12 beta …, more people make contact with all the new
strings and may hopefully feel the urge to contribute
and to improve existing translations for their language. It is fine to lay the
groundwork - now.
