the release war-path now.

- website updates
- critical and high priority bugs
I agree that a beta doesn't have to be a release candidate -- but I want to
avoid adding features after it so I think risky changes need to be merged
pre-beta. So I have a list of things that aren't blockers but I would like
to get in before the beta too.
