(some of these items come from an off-list exchange between Be and
I)

Regarding names, taking the full comments so far into consideration:

good point: not all DJs know about Mixxx, therefore "a name that
describes [or alludes to] the function" seems best.
accepted: MixxxOS is potentially confusing to use because it would
create a convoluted project history (also Be thinks it is boring)
probably true: single-word name will work best

Full suggestion list so far, including my own from the off-list
email:

(GNU/Linux can be appended as desired, "iDJ" removed because it was
a product from another company. "featuring Mixxx" or thereabouts is
probably a given.)

ReSpin *
ReMixxx
Live Mixxx
Linux 4 DJs
Live DJ *
Backspin
Crossfade *
Breakbeat
miX3 (why "3"?)
ReMix3 (")
MixxxSpin *
MixSpin
DJ Live Spin
ReMixxx
Mixxx Spin
LiveMixxx *
MixxxLive
LiveMXXX

The following could be stylistically abbreviated versions of the
above:

MXXXLV *
MXLV *
LVMX *
LVMXXX *
DJLV
LVDJ *
LV-MXXX
LV-MX

The ones marked with a * are my favorites. Out of the ones not
featuring the main project/task words, Crossafde seems the tightest.

other comments:

DidJiX: I find it entirely pronounceable, but the seemingly random
capitalization is difficult to remember and therefore annoying to
type, also, it makes little sense in english
official Mixxx project: would be really cool
LXDE being an option: the desktop menu bug is tragic, because LXDE
is an unbeatable balance of resource conservation and feature set
scripts up on GitHub: also really cool
