Brice: The Haldex system is neither specific to the TT nor to Audi. In fact, it is VW's generic AWD system for all cars with transverse motors (TT, Audi's S3, the A4 Golf and A4 Bora). The Torsen system is VW's generic AWD system for all cars with longitudinal motors (Audi's A4, A6, and A8, and the B5 Passat).
The trademark for Audi's AWD is Quattro, which is what the Haldex system is called on the TT and the S3. In VWs, the same system is known as 4Motion, which is it's tradmark for AWD. The B5 Passat uses the Torsen system which for trademark reasons is referred to as 4 Motion. Of course, on the Audi, the Torsen system is known as Quattro. Good. There is a way to upgrade my Rallye. Just need to send a TT to junkyard ;-)))) -Nils > I think some manufacturers use some computers to aid in traction control, > but that is a different topic.
