I may be a little outdated here, but I thought that ALL AWD systems used
some variation of a viscous coupling (that's viskus) in the PTU or Transfer
Case. This is a fluid that when it gets hot- i.e. the wheels spin- it turns
into a solid and puts power to the rear wheels. Kind of a sophisticated
clutch.

I think some manufacturers use some computers to aid in traction control,
but that is a different topic. I didn't think that anyone had developed a
COMPLETELY computer driven AWD system.

-Tallon TSI

What is the power distribution like on each?
What makes each system unique?
