high, as well. However, A2's have a tall greenhouse and high
roofline, and relatively upright seating, so we can see over the cowl
easily, whereas the American cars you mentioned tend to have a lower
roofline and lower seats. 'Sportier' styling = worse visibility. On
the other hand, my Japanese cars (especially Honduh) have a really
low cowl, as well as lower seating and roof line. You get better
visibility, but I feel really 'exposed' behind the wheel, or in the
 front passenger's seat.

very true, my escort GT is a rebadged mazda 323/protege and has a much lower
cowl, but less visability due to a short roof line i really like being able
to sit fully upright in my GTi 16v <which ALSO has an internal sliding
sunroof, converted to electric by a previous owner> with plenty of roof
clearance and good road visibility...however the big mac box shape does leave
something to be desired aerodynamically...ive learned in my short period of
veedub ownership its not all about how GREAT the car is, its about how
DIFFERENT the car is...mind you im not saying its a bad car, its a fun little
16v rocket just like my escort...but its fun because its not just another
Japanesse 16v rice rocket
