If you can do it without selling the 16v, as previously said, go for it. I was just in a similar dilemma. I bought my 16v nearly 6 yrs ago for $4400, and have since put in just about $22,000 in maintainence, upgrades, 4 tranny's (hehe). To sell it for even $5000 (its an 87) would be stupid. It runs great, and is such a fun car to drive. Anyway, last Janruary I had started the lease on a 01 Jetta, but am now signing the lease over to my father's girlfriend (she loves the car, and I can't stand automatic). I just ordered an A4 1.8tq from a local dealer and expect delievery in late August. But, I will never ever sell my 16v... Denis G.
