Yesterday, the 1992 16v was sold...may she rest in peace. I think she went in a good home because the guy is a mechanic and it's his fourth dub (never owned a 16v tough...). Anyway, I'm looking for a new car that would be a lot of fun to drive but that wouldn't have the crazy insurance premium the 16v has. I was thinking something like a a2vr6, a mazda 323 gtx or a CRX hybrid. I thought I'd ask you guys because many of you own a few cars and have owned quite a few. I even think someone on the list bought a gtx323 last year. Don't flame on me yet! I still have a few questions and a few points to make. -A2VR6 : Nice...are vr6 reliable? I've heard so much bad stuff about them (especially OBD1). On a scale of 1/10 the 16v was a 4/10 just to let you know where I'm standing -323 GTx: awd, turbo, light FAST and nimble. Are parts really rare and expensive? Is the awd feature just another trouble maker? How many miles can I expect before the awd system fails? Should I run away from an old turbo car if I care about reliability (even if the engine/turbo/tranny are 5k old)? -Crx : Yup it's a Honda...with a 160 or 180hp engine from the japanese market it can be a blast to drive. Just have to find a clean body...and they are SOOOO over-valued. We're talking 14sec quarter miles with the honda lawnmower reliability and a light car.
Thanks guys, and I promise I will own a 16v once again when the cash flows...sniff sniff poor little college student. -- PAYPAL.COM An easy way to transfer funds over the internet.
