i find it *very* hard to believe that you could *ever* put a valve into
a piston with an adjustable cam sprocket, regardless of the lift, as
long as the cam timing is correct.  

way back when, when i first installed my euro cam on my 87, i was an
idiot and installed it about 150 degrees out.  i tried to start the car
MANY times, till i decided to check to see what the deal was.  ZERO
valve damage.
