BASTARD!!!!!!!!!

I have not seen a GLHS for a LOOOOOOOONG time. One of the most
unappreciated cars of all time. Personally I'd give it to the GLHS over the
Vette- and it is probably more reliable.

My brother had a CSX that was gnarly. I LOOOOOVE the 2.2l turbo 2. Right
up there with the Slant 6 in all time most reliable motors.

Subject: Re: Filling front motor mount/heim jointing

I have filled motor mounts before, I did it on my old GLHT. I upgraded to
the mopar performance mount, which has a harder durometer rubber, but I
didn't think it was hard enough. It makes hella difference in shifting, and
if your stick moves at all when you hit the gas that will go away too. The
setup in my GLHT was really similar to what I have found to be stock in most
A2s I have seen... that is, it has shift linkage instead of cables. It may
even help if you have a wheel hop problem. If you can find a performance
mount I would start there, and if need be fill it. When you fill it with
RTV, make sure that you do it little by little, and leave time for it to dry
in between. Do layers and let it dry for a day or so. Otherwise the RTV
will still be wet in the middle when you are done and it will not dry. I
never looked at the mount in my jetta (didn't have a chance to yet) but I am
assuming it is very similar to the mopar 2.2 turbo mount. I put some pics
up of my old used and abused mount I took out and put them up at:

Another mod that you A2 guys might be interested in (if you don't know about
it yet) is to heim joint your linkage if you are still using linkage instead
of cables. There is a great webpage that explains this at
<http://www.shelbydodge.org/menu/new_idea.php3?url=http://www.shelbydodge.or
g/html/heim_joint.html>
Save your money-- dont buy that short shift kit, and do it this way... it
works. Hope this helps somebody...
