Those kits eliminate the parts of the stock system that work fine, and don't do anything about the parts that cause almost all of the slop- the "golf ball" and the main shaft bushing. Unfortunately there's not much that can be done there, so once they wear out you're still stuck with a sloppy shifter with a nice set of $300 heim joints. The stock "ball and socket" connectors can have marginally more slop in them, but it's not huge.
