I want to purchase an XJ, which is a Jeep Cherokee. Not a Grand Cherokee. I've been lurking on an XJ list for quite some time. Just like any car, they have their typical problems.

I have one and can attest to how hard I have tried to break it with NO problems. Jeep is COMPLETELY separate from the rest of the Reich and always has been. The best thing Chrysler ever did was to keep Jeep extremely separate from the remainder of the product line. Not trying to start a flame war, but by FAR the most common late model vehicle i see on the side of the road being towed or abandoned is the Jeep Grand Cherokee, I've never noticed any other relatively late model vehicle appearing on tow trucks and the side of the road with anywhere near that kind of frequency...the actual WRANGLER might be well built, ive never known anyone that had one with serious problems, but the cherokee doesnt seem to share that quality -Mike
