I got over 180K on my 8v GTi Sachs clutch (never tracked). It was a sight... half of the inner spokes had broken and turns out it was installed off center by the factory and the pushrod started making its own divet off center. I should frame that thing.
No real relevance, just a cool story. I am just about to install a new Sachs clutch in my 16v... i guess you would say I'm making a mistake... is it the pressure plate that sucks or the clutch disk?
