It is true, Yahoo groups default for new accounts is: 1. Automatically recieve email from their 16 different marketing groups 2. Automatically recieve email from their third party partner/advertisers 3. can be automatically added to any other groups without your permission.
But, you can turn these off in your account profile. It will result is a major decrease in traffic volume to your email account. The Corrado Listgroup recently migrated to the Yahoogroups forum. The benefits of using the Yahoogroups forum is it is stable and robust, you can use IM, they have a picture hosting site for your group, and they will be around for a long time. It will take a lot of management effort off the shoulders of those currently struggling with the task. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]]On Behalf Of Jesse T Walz Sent: Friday, June 14, 2002 4:22 AM To: a2list Subject: Re: [A2-16v] 16v list problems I second this. I would prefer not going to Yahoo groups. I have a thing against advertisements pervading every aspect of our daily lives. Lets just wait and see how this provider works out first.
