Charlie, In the 1.5 years I have been a member of a list on Yahoogroups I have recieved a total of about 6 junk emails, and it has always been reliable, I am in the "MK1GTI List with over 500 members and there is no limit that I know that we have been even close to.
I can't speak to the password part as I have never forgotten my passwords on my 3 Yahoo Mail accounts(Personal, MK1 GTI Lists, 16V Lists). I don't know about the spam blockers either, but I would assume you can set them to let email from specific addresses through. I have been very happy with Yahoo in general, of all the 5 or so web email accounts I have had, Yahoo has been the most reliable (up/down time).
