Autotech 16v camset came out just over a year ago I believe, which is why they weren't in the 11/00 EC issue. I have them, upgrade from a euro cam, and have absolutely no issues what them at all. I actually love them, they really are perfect for my motor. I have written at least 3 or 4 in depth reviews on them to the list, so I don't feel like writing a ton now. But, despite what Holland posted from Todd @ AWE from back in Jan 99, the cams are a definite improvement over my euro intake cam. The lobes are much pronounced and not as 'dull' as the euro intake cam, and I remember the exhaust cam being much different from the stock cam as well. I am not saying that the AT set makes as much as they claim, more than the Schrick 260's, but, when I was shopping for a camset for my 14 year old GTI, I wasn't about to spend $700 on a set of Schricks. I got near-to or equal-to Schrick performance for like $350 or so. Longitivity? Yeah, AT had problems with crappy cams back in the early 90's. But, with a lifetime guarantee on all their stuff, I am not worried. All in all, the cam's are awesome for my motor (2008cc, 1.8 head, CIS-E, TT fuel enrichment, 11.5:1 compression). I am still amazed at the power at 6500 rpm, and find myself constantly redlining. My $0.02.
