Hi all, I went to install my new stereo head unit last evening and was looking at the Bentley and what color wires I had in my dash. The antenna cable did not look right (wrong connector and wrong color power wire). So I decided it was a good time to remove my ever more falling headliner and check the antenna amplifier connections (I have had bad reception so I figured corroded ground or blown amplifier). Well this turned into more than I bargained for. A PO must have removed the headliner before. It was cracked and broken in several spots and is in two pieces. Also I don't have to worry about the antenna amplifier, since it was not there. Needless to say I ran out of time to install the stereo, before the wife started yelling from the house that is was dinner time.
I am wondering if the headliner is repairable or not. I don't think so, but perhaps. The car is 91 jetta gli w/ a sun roof. Can these be had at a pick and pull in an acceptable condition? I was planning to recover the headliner backer from my car before I knew it was in such poor shape. I think I am just looking for some options at this time. Jesse 91 jetta gli 01 golf 1.8t
