I was told the B3 16V Passat heater cores were the same as in the A2s.
What VWoA told me regarding the "official" word on the heater core recall
for B3 Passats is that 16V cars are VIN specific and all VR6s are covered.
Either way, I agree. If the part has been used in many applications, it
should be covered. It's the part that's bad, not the application.

The core used in the Passat's is the same as the ones used in the Corrado.
VW's official recall is on the Corrado because there were a lot less of them
sold. If the part is identical it should be covered no matter what it is
installed in.
