I rode the Boge Progas with Autotech springs on my Corrado. I like Boge and I've used the Turbogas on my Caddy. However, they lasted about 40k miles on my Corrado and settled to the point where my car became too low and was unrideable on the street for any passengers. As a matter of fact, my carpool would no longer ride in my car because it became so rough.
On my 16V I still have a set of the Suspension Techniques springs and I'm currently purchasing Bilstein Sports. I've driven my brothers cars (A1 Jetta and Caddy) with these shocks and they are comfortable but sporty. Shine preaches the German approach to suspension tuning using only dampening to control the front sway with no sway bar except in the rear. Some drivers have used this setup with great success. You will have to make up your own mind on if you will incorporate this approach to your own vehicle. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]]On Behalf Of Greg Bensinger Sent: Saturday, February 05, 2005 8:50 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [a2-16v-list] Shine Real Street Springs Hey all, Been debating this for awhile, upgrading my suspension on my 91 GLI. Awhile back someone I knew with a 90 GLI swore by his Shine Racing springs and rear sway bar. Anyone out there driving on this setup? Also, Bilstein HD or BOGE Turbo Gas opinions? Just looking for some spirited backroad driving every now and then...
