Yeah, I could really use a source cheaper than the dealer. I am
currently restoring my 91 gli. I will need many new window seals.

t this point the body has been stripped and I now need to remove the
engine and engine bay stuff. Hopefully President's Day, when the wife
is at work and my son is at daycare, I can get a lot of that done.
Progress is real slow when you have a wife and a 7 month old. At this
point I have already spent a year of just stripping the car to get it
ready for the body shop, but I am the only one working on it. Anyone in
central New York want to help remove an engine? My shop is heated!

This would be great as I have a small puddle behind my drivers seat any

Subject: [a2-16v-list] A2 Door and Window Seals

A source for replacement door and windows seals has been discussed on
this
list before with little success in locating a source. Some dealers still
carry the items for our cars but aftermarket has fallen short. Parts
that
are available have been expensive.

PAP Autoparts, one of the Vortex sponsors, is working with manufacturers
over seas to explore the idea of making replacement seals for our cars.
Prices have yet to be determined but there seems to be a high degree of
interest. Much more so than any other group-but scenarios that I've seen
in
the past.

Hopefully something comes of this
