Its a stronger transmission than the O2O and you would need the pedal
cluster and the cable shifters. I don't know if they are the same
shifters
as the ones in a Corrado, if they are similar they will bolt
directly into a
MKII GTi. You'll need to drill a hole in the firewall for the
hydraulic
clutch. Not difficult. I believe you will also need to take the
axle shafts.
The airbox will be different from the 16V Passat. It's sideways
because of
the wider body. So just use the airbox from the original. The
motormounts,
exhaust manifolds, and the Motronic engine management should be the
same

Subject: [a2-16v-list] Passat 2.0 16V
I recently found a good 2.0 16V in a Passat. Looks just like the GTi's
They're asking $175. Is this a good deal? I noticed a hydraulic
clutch, how
much modification would I need to get in a Gti?
It'd make a great winter project.

PS I have a 2.0 16V (I ran it w/out oil) that's just taking up
space, I
thought it'd be worth it to have rebuilt. I now think not. What if
anything
should I strip off it before selling it for scrap?
