Someone made a 1/24 scale model many years ago but it was a Euro model with small bumpers and round headlamps. It's still at my parents' house, unfinished because I ran out of time/patience about 20 years ago. As I age, hobbies such as model building suit my sedentary lifestyle BUT the parts are getting so damn small and fuzzy that I can't see them.
Speaking of 3D printer models, I watched a show on how they work and the concept is incredibly cool. That'd be awesome to have a GTi 16v model produced in that manner, especially one in Hemi Orange with the Stars & Bars on the roof but I digress. >________________________________ > From: Larry Velez <[email protected]> >To: Volkswagen a2 16v discussion list <[email protected]> >Sent: Friday, October 26, 2012 9:13 AM >Subject: Re: [a2-16v-list] Need a Smaller GTI 16V? > >I have never seen an accurate model of a GTI 16V anywhere in any size or >material. > >Seems to the companies want to reuse their Golf molds and just tack on the >round lights and call it a day. > >I wonder what it would cost to get one made by a 3D printer, maybe we can all >work together to gather the schematics and chip in to hire someone to put them >together to had all the parts be 3D printed. > >Larry >91 GTI 16V > >-----Original Message----- >From: a2-16v-list [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of >darner >Sent: Friday, October 26, 2012 12:04 AM >To: a2-16v >Subject: [a2-16v-list] Need a Smaller GTI 16V? > >http://blog.hemmings.com/index.php/2012/10/19/gti-yi-yi-tomicas-new-limited-vintage-neo-vw-golf-16v-is-a-truly-international-affair/comment-page-1/#comment-5393169 > >Hemmings says this is an accurate depiction.
