The profile info in the XML is overwriting the profile you supply
using profile=. And you can not just arbitrarily change the profile
info in the XML because all the timing info it contains is based on 50
fps.

I understand and appreciate the motivation, but it is just not
possible at this time if you need to also make a DVD. What you need to
do is render a high quality 50p file. Then, transcode that to DVD, and
you can use Kdenlive for that because it does support a *file*
framerate that does not match the project framerate.

No. Why would it deinterlace something that is already progressive?
And it is not capable of interlacing/weaving a 50p input into a 50i
output.
