Yes, from 50p *AV file* to a 25 fps interlaced project/encoding (50i means the same but refers to vertical frequency in Hz, not frames per second). MLT simply drops every other progressive frame, scales it, and merely sets the encoder for interlace mode and signaling. That means the two fields of a frame are the same and there is no inter-field motion. Compare that to the ideal where each progressive frame from 50p is converted into the distinct fields of interlaced frames.
