I've launched Linux using the Kernel that my distro came with ( the bootloader allowed me to do so). I managed to install the nVIDIA driver (a package for the kernel was included with the installtion file, so no compiling was required) and Return to Castle Wolfenstein works perfectly ;) The only catch is that I have to use the old kernel, the nVIDIA FAQ was filled with user problems after switching to the new kernel. Oh well, I suppose that's life.
