Anton... are you sure that you are using hardware acceleration ? lol

Beryl is extremely alpha quality software. You just give it a try, enjoy it
for a day or two and revert back. If you want something more stable stick to
Compiz. For me they both still require some more polishing. I would give
them another 6 months until its fit for stable use. Even newer drivers will
change the situation.

drag my mouse across the screen to make a selection area, xorg easily goes
up to 40% - 60% cpu usage and the animation jerks and gives problems. :S
